It wasn’t until an unexpeccted offer from a friend on the newly opened Chicago Board Exchange led to Loren becoming a Market Maker for his own account with a career that has spanned more than 20 years on the floor and 10 years trading electronically. He has served on multiple committees, which include membership, arbitration, and OEX floor procedure. Loren went on to start one of the first electronic trading operations in Chicago, LaSalle Trading. The purpose: teach trading to beginners who had never traded before. In addition, teach electronic trading to exchange floor traders, moving off the floor. Loren is currently a senior manager in a proprietary trading operation in Chicago. He recruits, teaches and manages risk for the firm. In addition, he trades his own account. Loren has taught classes at Northwestern University and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. His passion is to teach trading to others through his many years experience in a most gratifying career.
